Commentary: The great festival of the Eastertide continues until Pentecost, its fifty days being longer than the forty-ish days of Lent. In an even more special way, we celebrate the Octave of Easter, a continuation of Resurrection Sunday for eight days, symbolizing the New Creation in the Risen Christ.
