Operation AXIOM: After the World War—The Anglo-Irish War, Part I
21 January 1919: Sinn Féin members of the U.K. Parliament met in Dublin instead of London as the Dáil Éireann (Assembly of Ireland) & issued the Forógra na Saoirse (Declaration of Independence); that same day, in the Soloheadbeg Ambush, the nationalist Irish Volunteers—soon renamed the Irish Republican Army under the command of the Dáil—killed two officers of the Royal Irish Constabulary.
Lest we forget.
