Operation AXIOM: After the World War—Prohibition, Part I
16 January 1919: Amendment XVIII to the United States Constitution was ratified, to take effect one year later—Nebraska ratified the Eighteenth Amendment, prohibiting the production, importation, transportation, & sale of alcohol in the U.S., the thirty-sixth of the forty-eight states to do so; Congress had proposed the amendment to the states on 18 December 1917, with broad bipartisan support.
Lest we forget.
