4-6 April 1983: The Space Shuttle Challenger OV-099 lifted off from Florida's Kennedy Space Center with CDR Paul Weitz, Pilot "Bo" Bobko, Mission Specialist 1 Story Musgrave, & Mission Specialist 2 Donald Peterson; they deployed T.D.R.S.-1 (pre-launch: T.D.R.S.-A), the first satellite of the Tracking & Data Relay Satellite System, toward a geosynchronous orbit via an Inertial Upper Stage booster.Commentary: This was the first flight of the Challenger OV-099.
