The Rebel Black Dot Song of the Día de Muertos
The Folksmen, "Skeletons of Quinto" from A Mighty Wind: The Album (The Last Angry Dead Man)
Commentary: "Skeletons of Quinto" was also the R.B.D.S.O.T.D. for All Souls' Day last year. This was not intentional, but I'd wager both decisions were rooted in the same thought process: the obvious Spanish linguistic & cultural influence on the song (yes, Día de Muertos is a Mexican, not a Spanish, holiday; sue me for being culturally illiterate &/or insensitive) & my enduring fondness for skulls & skeletons, including cavaleras y calacas. I wonder if this will persist & become a tradition, much as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones' "A Reason to Toast" has become for Thanksgiving.
