Operation AXIOM: After the World War—To Live & Die at Scapa Flow, Part I
21 November 1918: The German High Seas Fleet (Hochseeflotte) surrendered to the British Home Fleet; the pride of the defunct Imperial Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) was interned at Scapa Flow, Orkney, Scotland, pending the negotiation of formal peace terms; the Entente had internally agreed to destroy the German U-boat fleet, but were divided as to how to dispose of (read: divvy up) the surface fleet.
Lest we forget.
