14 November 1969: Apollo 12 lifted off from Florida's Kennedy Space Center, carrying Commander Charles "Pete" Conrad, Command Module Pilot Richard Gordon, & Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean aboard the Command & Service Module Yankee Clipper atop a Saturn V rocket also carrying the Lunar Module Intrepid; Apollo 12 was twice struck by lightning during the launch, but carried on.
