26 July 1972: The Skylab Medical Experiment Altitude Test (S.M.E.A.T.)—CDR Bob Crippen, Science Pilot William Thornton (a physician), & Pilot Karol Bobko entered a hypobaric chamber at Texas's Manned Spacecraft Center to begin a simulation of life aboard the forthcoming Skylab space station; they lived at a pressure of one-third bar in a seventy per cent oxygen atmosphere for fifty-six days.Bonus!
