2-8 December 1974: Soyuz 16 lifted off from the Kazakh S.S.R.'s Baikonur Cosmodrome, with CDR Anatoly Filipchenko & F.E. Nikolai Rukavishnikov aboard a Soyuz 7K-TM capsule atop a Soyuz-U rocket; call sign Buran ("Blizzard"); this was a test flight for the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, especially of the Androgenous Peripheral Docking System; after six days, they landed in the Kazakh S.S.R.Bonus!
