Operation AXIOM: Between the Wars
18 March 1925: The Great Tri-State Tornado—A massive tornado perdured for almost four hours & traversed 219 miles, carving a path of destruction across Missouri, Illinois, & Indiana; 695 souls were lost; the tornado, an E.F.5 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, was described as an "amorphous rolling fog," the funnel obscured by heavy rain & debris, catching many weather-wise farmers off guard.
Lest we forget.
