Commentary: In most of these United States, the Feast of Saint Matthew, Apostle & Evangelist will be observed on Tuesday, 21 September. However, because my parish, Saint Matthew, is under the patronage of the Apostle & Evangelist, our pastor transferred the observance—also raised from a Feast to a Solemnity—to this Sunday so that more parishioners could enjoy our parish patronal feast.
