'Tis Memorial Day. 'Tis not the day we honor our veterans, those who survived war; that's Veterans' Day. 'Tis not the day we honor our active-duty soldiers, sailors, airmen, & Marines, those who defend us still; that's Armed Forces Day. Today we honor those who laid down their lives so that we might be free, those who gave the last full measure of devotion. Today we honor the glorious dead. To to otherwise, to obscure the meaning of this day, is to dishonor their sacrifice.
