11 April 1970: Apollo 13 lifted off from Florida's Kennedy Space Center, carrying Commander Jim Lovell, Command Module Pilot Jack Swigert, & Lunar Module Pilot Fred Haise aboard the Command & Service Module Odyssey atop a Saturn V rocket also carrying the Lunar Module Aquarius; Swigert had replaced prime C.M. Pilot Ken Mattingly two days before liftoff due to a German measles scare.
