Death of Guitar Pop, "You'll Be Fine Sunshine" from In Over Our Heads (Rude Boy Mike Papa Whiskey)
Skammentary: Silky & Top Kat, the two blokes who comprise Death of Guitar Pop, are making their second SKApril appearance, after debuting in '19. "You'll Be Fine Sunshine" is a very reassuring song, though adding an appropriately cynical ska edge to the reassurance, the "Sunshine" being reassured is suffering a pretty bad hangover from the previous night's extracurricular activities. Elsewhere in the lyrics, Death of Guitar Pop refer to upchucking as a "Technicolor yawn." Love that local Essex color!
"For the blessings of bright blue skies,
You set your heart from the blues, Sunshine,
Amongst the wreckage a reason to smile,
And take a wonder down the crooked mile,
And dance the rhythm of life,
Be thankful for each second you're alive,
Dance the rhythm of life,
Be thankful for each second you're alive,
And you'll be fine, Sunshine!
And you'll be fine, Sunshine!
And you'll be fine, Sunshine!…"
