15 October 2021: The Assassination of Sir David Amess, M.P.—Sir David Anthony Andrew Amess (26 March 1952-15 October 2021), a husband & father of five, & Member of Parliament for Basildon (1983-1997) & Southend West (1997-2021), knighted in 2015; he was assassinated at a surgery (public meeting) with constituents, stabbed by a jihadist terrorist who expressed no remorse at trial.
