For centuries Parliament warred with the Crown for supremacy, and had the battle turned out differently the entire world would be different; kings might yet hold sway over all the world. A British general election is not a holiday on a par with Independence Day (since Parliament has been plenty tyrannical in its day), but it's still a grand day for the human race. Huzzah!
