This afternoon, through sheer carelessness on my part, I severed a power cord with an electric hedge trimmer, the very electric hedge trimmer to which the cord was supplying power. I know, sometimes I amaze even myself.

Actually, I'm surprised that sort of thing doesn't happen a lot more often. Glad it wasn't living tissue.
As I've always punned to everyone who kindly cautions me to be careful around tools & other perils, "Don't worry, I'm even more attached to my limbs & digits than you are."
Or sometimes, "Don't worry, no one's more attached to my fingers than I am."
