Operation AXIOM: After the World War—The Red Scare, Part II
February-June 1919: The Overman Committee—An ad hoc subcommittee of the U.S. Senate's Judiciary Committee, chaired by Lee S. Overman (D., North Carolina), originally tasked during the war to investigate alleged sedition by predominantly German-American brewers, held sensational hearings on Bolshevik, socialist, & anarchist propaganda, agitation, & terrorism in the United States.
Lest we forget.
