4 March-9 April 1919: The Spring Offensive of the Russian Army—Four White armies (the Orenburg Cossacks, the Ural Cossacks, the Western Army, & the Siberian Army) attacked the Red Army north of the Caspian Sea, aiming to link up with the Whites in Arkhangelsk (home also of the Entente's North Russia Intervention); the Whites prevailed in the center, but the Reds held in the south.
