The Rebel Black Dot Song o' the Day

London Symphony Orchestra & Alberto Lazzio, "Festival Overture in E-Flat Major, 'The Year 1812,' Opus 49" from London Symphony Orchestra Plays Classical Favourites (The Last Angry Man)

Commentary: Napoleon Bonaparte was a monster, a tyrant bent on world conquest & imposing his own vision of a just society no matter how many persons need to killed in order to stamp out all opposition. "Just" in that his whim was law, despite the farcically inflated reputation of the Napoleonic Code; his brothers were set up as despots, puppet monarchs over cowed & conquered peoples, proving that the lofty ideals of the Napoleonic Code were secondary or even tertiary compared to the self-proclaimed emperor's iron will. So, let us be grateful for the emperor's colossal blunder of invading the Russian Empire in 1812, & also for Tchaikovsky's musical celebration of same, which debuted in 1882.
