Camels, the three extant species of even-toed ungulates of the family Camelus: The one-humped dromedary (Camelus dromedarius), or Arabian camel, which accounts for ninety-four per cent (94%) of the global camel population; the two-humped Bactrian camel (Camelus bactrianus); & the two-humped, poorly named, genetically distinct—& endangered—Wild Bactrian camel (Camelus ferus).
