Skammentary: The above photograph is of N.A.S.A. astronaut & physician Anna Fisher, who flew aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery during S.T.S.-51-A in 1984, becoming the first mother in space.
"She said she got the call last night
And she was really sorry things had changed so rapidly and so decisively,
She said she'd wanted this for years
And she'd be a hero and a millionaire way out there in other galaxies.
"And life on Earth wouldn't be that bad
If you were still here today,
But now you're way out of orbit
And I fear you're light years away.
"Well, I drove down to Cape Canaveral, watched her board the ship,
And held back tears as I heard the countdown start.
Well, I thought we had a lot, I thought we had it all,
But all she left me with was this black hole in place of my heart.
"And life on Earth wouldn't be that bad
If you were still here today,
But now you're way out of orbit
And I fear you're light years away."
