There was a drop test today for a Structural Test Article of the Orion capsule. There have recently been a series of tests of the Space Launch System's (S.L.S.) core stage, specifically the RS-25 rocket engines. Here's hoping everything remains on track for Artemis I, an uncrewed flight of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (consisting of the Crew Module & the European Service Module, analogs of the Apollo Command Module & Service Module) & the S.L.S. booster (consisting of the RS-25-powered core stage & two five-segment Solid Rocket Boosters) into Lunar orbit & then the safe return of the Orion Crew Module back to Earth. Artemis I is scheduled to launch no later than November 2021.
We're going back to the Moon, this time to stay. Let's get excited, people!Semper exploro.
