The Victors: Team 144 (15-0, B1G 9-0)
The University of Michigan Marching Band, "Varsity" from A Saturday Tradition (Mike Papa Wolverine)
Commentary: There is an axiom that has fallen out of favor in this offense-focused era of gridiron football: Offensive wins games, but defense wins championships. No other championship team in the College Football Playoff era has held every one of its opponents to twenty-four points, or fewer. For that matter, no team had held every opponent to thirty points. Yet that is what the valiant Wolverines did, allowing twenty-four points twice & shutting out two oppoents, allowing an average of only ten & four-tenths points per game (10.4/game).
Go Blue!
