24 Heures du Mans | +23:57:00
According to the brain trust at Audi Sport Team Joest, winners of eleven of the last thirteen 24 Heures du Mans (& winners of eleven of the fourteen Le Mans in which they've campaigned, 1999 being an experimental year, though Audis still finished third & fourth), in order to be successful at Le Mans the preparations for next year's 24 Hours have to begin today, the day after their 1-2-3 sweep of the podium at the 80th running of the "Grand Prix of Endurance." Congratulations to this year's finishers, because to finish such a grueling test is an achievement in which to take pride; condolences to those who had to retire; & bonne chance to all in next year's 24 Heures du Mans!

An appreciation for a correspondent of the B.B.C.: twice around the clock-link.
