In sacred Michigan, midnight approaches; in Le Mans, dawn approaches: sunrise is supposed to occur at 6:00 A.M. local time. There is a sort of euphoria that settles on the teams with the sunrise, "Happy Hour," when many fast laps are set as they rejoice that the long night has ended. Of course, shortly after Happy Hour, a certain grimness settles on the teams as they realize that sunrise just means they still have a nine-hour race ahead of them, a race they must contest having already accumulated a day's worth of fatigue, exhaustion both mental & physical.
Meanwhile, the Radio Le Mans guys are getting a little bit punchy, conducting an extended diatribe against the usual model of commercial radio & television.
