The brilliant Audi propaganda documentary Truth in 24 begins with the line, "It always rains at Le Mans." It has rained this year, but only lightly, & the track temperature is so high that the circuit hasn't grown slick from the rain.

Despite this, the № 64 Corvette has crashed out of the race; rather, has been crashed out of the race. The G.T.E. Pro. Corvette of Marcel Fässler was motoring through the Porsche Curves when the G.T.E. Am. Porsche of Satoshi Hoshino, a driver who's having a disastrous Le Mans, having spun several times, suddenly cut across the track & collided with Fässler's Corvette. The Corvette spun & slammed into the wall repeatedly, being immediately knocked out of the race. Fässler was able to exit the car under his own power, but he has not yet been cleared by the circuit medical center. Hoshino's car owner is Hollywood actor Patrick Dempsey; Dempsey is a true race, not a dilletante, & he ought to bench Hoshino immediately, before Hoshino's amateurish driving kills someone.
