Project BLACK MAMBA

Today is the memorial of Saint Theodora† (1798-1856), A.K.A. Saint Théodore Guérin, foundress of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods: Saint-link, Wikipedia-link, & Order-link.

Scripture of the Day
Today I shall read the Book of Jonah; 'tis short, so one day's reading will be more than enough to get through it all. Yesterday, I read the Gospel according to Mark, chapter sixteen, the conclusion of Mark's Gospel. Tomorrow, after today's sojourn with Jonah into the fish's gullet all the way to its gut, I shall begin the Gospel according to Matthew, proceeding as I did with Mark through one chapter a day. After Matthew, the plan is to read the Gospel according to Luke, then the Acts of the Apostles, followed by the Gospel according to John. The Gospels might be interspersed, as is the case 'twixt Mark & Matthew, with shorter volumes from the Old Testament.
