19-29 October 1925: The Incident at Petrich (A.K.A. the War of the Stray Dog)—After a Greek soldier was killed under disputed circumstances, Greek troops invaded Bulgaria & attacked the town of Petrich; the League of Nations ordered a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Greek troops, & Greece to pay £45,000 in compensation to Bulgaria within two months; around one hundred seventy souls were lost.
