Science!
The word "astronaut" means "star sailor" or, more gracefully, "sailor among the stars." While the test vehicle our Japanese friends have just launched is unmanned, it seems the first step to making astronauts more literally sailors, as opposed to rocketeers: solar sail-link. (Also, let us hope that the I.K.A.R.O.S. has a more successful flight than did Icarus, the namesake of the spacecraft's acronym.) Also, bon voyage to I.K.A.R.O.S.'s launch-mate, Akatsuki, on the long journey to Venus.

Science!
