I am meant to see The Loose Ties perform tomorrow, but the show, a release party for another band's latest album, is scheduled for the middle of the Michigan-Michigan State game. What am I supposed to do in the face of such folly? For crying out loud, who schedules a concert for Saturday afternoon during the college football season?

The intersection of the music/sports fan venn diagram must not as big as you're imagining.
You may well have a point, Dylweed, & on most other weekends I'd concede the point, but this is the Michigan-Michigan State game. Everyone in the State of Michigan knows what's going on today, whether they are a patriotic American football fan or one of those football-hating Communists.
