4-7 July 1920: The Red Army broke through the Polish lines in what is today Belarus, advancing into the Polish heartland; on 30 May, Tsarist general Aleksei Brusilov urged all Whites to be reconciled to the victorious Bolsheviks, swelling the Red Army's ranks & initiating a vital reorganization; Lenin & the Bolshevik leadership publicly lauded the conquest of Poland as the gateway to the rest of Europe.
