The Rebel Black Dot Song of the Day

John Barry, "The Jams Bond Theme" (from Dr. No) via iTunes (The Last Angry Man)

Commentary: I entertained the idea of a week of James Bond theme songs to celebrate today's release of the latest 007 motion picture, Spectre, but after almost all of the R.B.D.S.O.T.D. from the last two months were part of one or another thematic series, I know that I needed a break. I dare suspect you did, too, dear reader. I enjoyed each of our recent themes—"end of the long summer," "labor," "theme songs," & "Hallowe'en"—but now is the time to return to business as usual. There shall be no more themes 'til the arrival of secular Christmas music after Thanksgiving, foreshadowing the arrival of sacred Christmas music during the Christmastide.

Spectre is the twenty-fourth "official" (Eon Productions) Bond picture produced since the releases of Dr. No in 1962. There are also two "unofficial" Bond pictures. I've seen all the 007 pictures & read all of Ian Fleming's 007 books, plus a pair of 007 books by other, later authors.
