Mu330, "Ireland" from Crab Rangoon (The Last Angry Man)
Skammentary: Crab Rangoon, & thus "Ireland," was published in 1997, before the Good Friday Agreement was signed in 1998, which greatly reduced but did not completely end the civil violence known as "the Troubles."
"My heart was strong,
But I was wrong
To think that I could save her.
Her head was mixed
In politics
And I fell out of favor.
There was no trial,
No mercy mild,
And now I am forever exiled.
"Ireland's at war with herself,
Ireland's at war with herself,
Hopeless that I couldn't help
When Ireland's at war with herself…"
