Commentary: The Spirit drove the Christ into the desert to pray & fast for forty days in preparation for His earthly ministry. In imitation of the Divine Master, we too go into the desert, in preparation for the Paschal Mysteries of His Passion, Death, & Resurrection, the fulcrum of all time & space, of the whole created order.
