The Explorers' Club
№ CCXCII - Fridtjof Nansen (1861-1930), Part I: Pioneering Arctic explorer & oceanographer.

Vote for Kodos
While the ruling from the Nine Tyrants (I'm test-driving a new nickname for the Supreme Court of the United States) was disappointing, I retain the optimistic assessment I posted to the FaceSpace: "No worries, we'll just get rid of Obamacare the old-fashioned way: through the ballot box." More to follow.

The Queue
My only complaint is that The Warlord of Mars seemed a little rushed. I'm not talking about the breakneck pace of the action, because both A Princess of Mars & The Gods of Mars are rip-roaring tales that don't let up for a single page. The new Martian race & culture to which the reader is introduced simply isn't as well-explained or -explored as the races & cultures encountered in the earlier books; as a result, the threat seems somewhat less menacing. The Warlord of Mars is a direct sequel to The Gods of Mars, & I heartily recommend reading the Barsoom series in order. I also most heartily recommend reading the Barsoom series.
