Kith & Kin
The repairs to—reinforcement of—the staircase to the uppermost floor continue, slowed somewhat by my father's case of the dreadful sick (confirmed today not to be the pneumonia) but slowed principally by repeated interruptions for sundry odds & ends. I was inside a Home Despot thrice today, twice to the nearest vast warehouse—& no joy on either occasion—& once to the next nearest vast warehouse, which is a good twenty/twenty-five minutes away from Wilson Field. I love motoring in the Lumi the Snow Queen, but I prefer to motor to a purpose, not in wild goose chases for hardware. Still, we are making progress, & the actual repair work is quite interesting.

I ran into Daddy Dylweed's father on the first of the day's three sojourns inside a Home Despot. He looked to be in good shape given all he's endured in recent months. Good on him.
