Commentary: Quoth the bulletin:
Birth is not the start of a new human life—just a change of the baby's environment.Today is also the optional memorial of Saint Vincent, Deacon & Martyr (d. c. 304, A.K.A. Vincent of Saragossa), martyred under the Emperor Diocletian: Martyr-link & Wikipedia-link.
Commentary: Quoth the bulletin:
Vincent was apprehended & ordered to surrender his sacred books. When he refused, he was tortured until he died. The bulletin honors St. Vincent tomorrow, 23 January, but the available online resources give today, 22 January, as his feast. I suspect the move to 23 January is in deference to the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children & the March for Life. If the move to the 23rd is at the directive of the bishops—& the U.S.C.C.B. website is silent as far as I can tell—I mean no defiance by memorializing St. Vincent today on the 22nd. If the move is solely at the discretion of the bulletin's editor, I respect her motive even as I disagree with it.

It appears that St. Vincent's memorial has been officially moved to the 23rd in the US.
Here's the link for where they say so at the USCCB website. http://www.usccb.org/about/divine-worship/liturgical-calendar/saint-marianne-cope.cfm
I thank you, Mrs. Brother Nacho. I erred, but thanks to you I shall go forward armed with the knowledge necessary not to repeat that error.
