Monday was the Memorial of Saints Timothy & Titus, Bishops (1st century): Saints-link Timothy & Titus, Martyr-link Timothy & Wikipedia-link Timothy, Saint-link Titus & Wikipedia-link Titus.
Commentary: Quoth the Bulletin:
Timothy had the honor of being a fellow apostle with Paul, both sharing the privilege of preaching the gospel & suffering for it.Today is the optional memorial of Saint Angela Merici, Virgin, C.S.U. (1474-1540), foundress of the Angelines, formally the Company of Saint Ursula: Saint-link Unus & Saint-link Duo, Wikipedia-link Angela & Wikipedia-link Angelines.
Titus has the distinction of being a close friend & disciple of Paul as well as a fellow missionary.
Commentary: Quoth the Bulletin:
Although it was never a religious order in her lifetime, Angela's Company of Saint Ursula, or the Ursulines, was the first group of women religious to work outside the cloister & the first teaching order of women.Actually, the Ursulines are the Order of Saint Ursula, an off-shoot of the Company of Saint Ursula, the Angelines. Unlike today's saint & the Angelines, the Ursulines went back to the cloister & live under the monastic Rule of Saint Augustine.
