Skammentary: "Simmer Down" was a number one hit in Jamaica in 1964, the first success for Bob Marley & the Wailer, supported by the Skatalites. 'Twas a plea for peace, for an end of the violence that wracked Kingston. Fifty-two years later, that message is needed as urgently as ever.
