David Randolph Scott (born 6 June 1932), Colonel, U.S. Air Force—He flew Gemini VIII (1966) & Apollo 9 (Gumdrop & Spider, 1969) & commanded Apollo 15 (Endeavour & Falcon, 1971); he swam on scholarship at the University of Michigan; he was the first member of Astronaut Group 3 to fly, the seventh of the twelve Moonwalkers, & was Director of N.A.S.A.'s Dryden Flight Research Center.
