Commentary: Truly Providential to watch "The Maquis, Part I" on 25 April, without being aware that the episode first aired on 25 April! The Maquis organization was created as set-up for the then forthcoming Star Trek: Voyager, but like most everything else on Voyager, the storytelling potential of the Maquis elements was wasted. Deep Space Nine made much better use of the Maquis, especially the complexity of Ben Sisko's conflicts with Cal Hudson, Kasidy Yates, & Michael Eddington.
