The Rebel Black Dot Song of the Day

R.E.M., "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" via iTunes (T.L.A.M.)

Commentary: Like many persons, I can make neither heads nor tails of much of the lyrical content of "It's the End of the World ss We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" & like many persons, I've never given a tinker's damn that I can make neither heads nor tails of much of the lyrical content of "It's the End of the World As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)," it's just a fun song. 'Twas chosen as a companion piece to yesterday's R.B.D.S.O.T.D., Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire," both verbose portraits of a moment in time now a quarter of a century gone, the late 1980s, the fall of Communism & the end of the Cold War.

Also, prepare yourself, we are now only three weeks away from SKApril '15. "Ska, ska, ska…"

Autobahn
This afternoon I espied a Chevrolet Traverse sporting the vanity license plate IDWIFE. 'Twas a University of Michigan vanity plate & taking the block-M along with IDWIFE the license plate clearly spells out "midwife." The rear window sported a set of those obnoxious stickers describing the owner's family—for the life of me I've never understood why one would want to broadcast that information to every other motorist on the road—& the mother was depicted as wearing the "scrubs" of the contemporary medical professional. "Midwife" also sported a bumper sticker ichthys, A.K.A. a "Jesus fish."
