Perchance to Dream
I dreamt about her again this morning, the same girl as the other day (Wayback Machine). She was resplendent in white—her wedding gown. I stood near her before the assembled kith & kin, dressed head to toe in black—not the black tuxedo of her bridegroom but the black clerical garb of a priest. I was there not to marry her, but to marry her. There was no sadness in this unexpected turn of events. Instead, there was both contentment & joy; joy for the life she & her unseen bridegroom were about to embark upon & contentment that this turn of events, unforeseen though it may have been, was for the best, was the path that would lead us all to the optimal outcome. She was not mine, she shall not be mine, & this was as it should be. She was so very, very beautiful.
