Operation AXIOM: Destination Moon—The 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11, Part II
20 July 1969: The Lunar Module Eagle, crewed by Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin, landed at what Armstrong dubbed "Tranquility Base," Aldrin took Communion; Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the Moon, Aldrin the second; the explorers addressed a massive live television audience on Earth, hoisted the American flag, deployed scientific instruments, & collected soil & rock samples.
