Commentary: "Bar Association" is one of the worst episodes of the entire series, a non-comedic Ferengi episode that unironically quotes The Communist Manifesto.
Lasting developments from the episode include the first hint of Rom & Leeta's romance, which will eventually culminate in their marriage &, as seen on Star Trek: Lower Decks, leadership of the Ferengi Alliance. The first hint of Jadzia & Worf's romance was seen in the previous episode, "Sons of Mogh," when they flirted as they sparred in the holosuites; that flirtation continues here, with Dax pursuing Worf. This will culminate in their marriage, too. None of the main cast on The Next Generation married; the only prominant wedding was of recurring character Chief O'Brien to Keiko, who was first introduced in the wedding episode, "Data's Day" (season four, episode eleven). The O'Briens' marriage is much further developed during Deep Space Nine, far & away the most family-oriented Star Trek series.
