Operation AXIOM: The World War
7-11 September 1916: The Battle of Kisaki—German Schutztruppen lured their principally South African pursuers into a frontal assault against well-prepared, naturally-defensible terrain; the Germans won the field, but withdrew days later, continuing to retreat southward. This last vestige of Germany's pre-war colonial empire had effectively been operating behind enemy lines for two years.
Lest we forget.
