The Rebel Black Dot Song o' Independence Day

Matt Maher, "Woke Up In America" from The Love In Between (The Last Angry Man)

Commentary:
"I woke up in America for the love of God,
I woke up in America for something bigger than myself,
More than fireworks and fanfare,
More than a star-spangled banner,
You're still beautiful, America…

"You're still beautiful, America,
You're beautiful, America,
You're beautiful, America."
As I heard Mr. Maher joke about himself last night on television, as he performed at a Catholic leadership conference in Florida, as he urged the audience to dance, "I'm the whitest guy in the room. I'm from Canada!" So, I thought the inscription from Belle Isle's Peace Monument appropriate to this 4th of July R.B.D.S.O.T.D.
