23 June-3 August 1915: The First (23 June-7 July) & Second (18 July-3 August) Battles of the Isonzo—Italy repeats many of the mistakes made by the Germans, French, British, Austro-Hungarians, & Russians in 1914, suffering high casualties for minimal territorial gains; the carnage would be greater, but both sides are plagued by a shortage of ammunition.
